Are There Free Updates for All Games?

While many of the Switch 2 upgrades are free for Nintendo Switch Online members, not all of them are. Some games come with paid upgrade packs that give you access to the enhanced features and additional content.

For example, if you’re already a Switch Online member, games like The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom will be available as free updates, no extra cost involved. However, for other titles, you’ll need to purchase the Switch 2 upgrade pack to unlock the enhancements.

You can buy these upgrade packs via the Switch eShop or get them as part of a physical edition, where both the game and the enhanced features are bundled together.
