One of the absolute joys of PC gaming is the endless variety, especially when it comes to cozy indie gems. Thanks to platforms like Steam, there's always something new and heartwarming to discover. But with so many charming games out there, it can be hard to know where to start.

To make things easier, I’ve rounded up some of my favourite cozy PC games you can play right now, ranging from gentle farming sims to sweet story-driven adventures and relaxing management games. Whether you’re after something peaceful and productive, slow and story-rich, or just totally adorable, these games are perfect for curling up with in 2025.

Palia

Palia is a free-to-play cozy MMORPG that blends life simulation and adventure. Build homes, grow crops, raise animals, and make friends in an open world with NPCs and other players. Explore, craft, and immerse yourself in a rich, ever-evolving world as you grow your community.

Tiny Glade

A cozy castle, cottage and romantic ruins builder where you can turn meadows into beautiful artchitecture. With gridless building you can build as accurately and detailed as you desire. There’s no management or goals, you’re free to be as creative as you like and build your own stunning creations.

The Sims 4

Of course, the most obvious option for a life sim is The Sims 4, or any version of The Sims, the original life simulation. Dominating the life sim market since 2000, there’s a reason this game is so popular. The level of customisation is uncomparable to any other game I can think of. You can build anything, be anything, do anything! And with a wealth of expansion packs, you can theme your world around anything you desire. An absolute must have for any cozy gamer looking for a life sim.

Stardew Valley

Of course, the most obvious choice if you’ve not already played is Stardew Valley, now considered the peak of cozy farming simulations. And for a good reason, Stardew Valley was created by 1 developer in a solo project, and with many updates over the years it has grown to be an outstanding game in this genre. Grow and sell crops, fight monsters in the mines, fish, craft items, cook recipes, raise animals and gather their produce, and meet a cast of amazing characters to befriend, romance, and maybe marry! If you haven’t already played it… just do.

inZOI

Fields of Mistria

Farm, grow crops, fish, mine and craft as you romance up to 12 villagers and make your home in Mistria. Level up 9 different skill types, raise animals and even breed rare colour varients. Unlock magic to help you with your adventuring and farming, and craft your won furniture with up to 600 items to craft. It is still in early access but there’s already so much content, with new updates upcoming.

Tiny Bookshop

A cozy management sim that gets what makes bookshops special. In Tiny Bookshop, you’re not just selling titles, you’re matching stories to people, one thoughtful recommendation at a time. Play as cute cat Nico on your own little island farm, where you can grow crops and harvest trees to sell to buy more resources. Travel across islands to meet new characters and the island levels are all procedurely generated so you’ll get different looking islands each time! The farm has different weathers and events themed around them, and you can craft with the items you find to decorate your island.

Unpacking

Unpacking is a unique zen puzzle game that transforms the tedious task of unpacking boxes and moving home into a soothing, meditative journey. Dinkum

Explore deserts, forests and billabongs in the Australian Outback building your new home out in the bush. You can build your town from scratch, beginning in a tent to a full town with shops, farms and attractions to draw in visitors, who may want to stay in your town too if they like it enough. You can craft items and organise your town however you like, and the happier your townsfolk are the more likely thry are to stay, grow their families and set up their own stores with unique items. You can also still fish and hunt for bugs as well as decorate your home and build your farm of wombats!

Garden Galaxy

Garden Galaxy is a soothing little treasure box of a game, part sandbox, part decoration, and all charm. You’re gifted with a magical pot that drops surprise items, which you can use to create your own dreamlike garden space in the stars. With no pressure, no timers, and no real objectives, it’s the perfect game to play when you just want to unwind and let your creativity bloom.

Lake

Play as Meredith, who swaps city life for two weeks of delivering post in her hometown. As you drive through pine-lined roads and reconnect with old friends, you’ll decide what kind of future she wants. It’s thoughtful, dialogue-driven, and all about slowing down.
